The art and heart of selling

When is a sales call not a sales call?

Over the last few days I’ve had several wonderful conversations with women who are digging deep, carving their own paths serving with heart.

We talked about our challenges, the evolution of our work and the lessons we have learned.

We talked about where they are heading, what they want to bring to the world and what’s holding them back from sharing it large.

We’ve talked about the ideas they are incubating. The ebooks, workshops, videos and new service offerings just waiting to be birthed, if only they could wrap their words around them.

These conversations were warm and nourishing, full of ahas and nods of recognition and the reciprocal sharing of ideas and book recommendations. Whether the conversations ultimately lead to purchases almost felt beside the point. In each case, we left the conversation richer.

Selling doesn’t have to be about mass email sequences and sales pages and clicks and conversions. Yes, those things can be very important. No, it’s not always possible to speak to each customer individually, if you want to sell with scale.

But it is possible to bring soul into your sales and marketing. To infuse your live videos, your social media posts, your newsletters with that beautiful energy of service and intention. To connect to the heart of your work and offer it to another who needs that very thing.

The way we usher our work into the world matters.

The way you show up in your social media, your emails, your speaking engagements, your writing, matters.

If you’re grasping for the sale, or trying some prescribed launch tactics simply to encourage dollars through the door, your customers will feel that, just as surely as they feel that quiver in your voice when you speak that truth you find so hard to share.

If these words speak to you, I’d love to invite you to a special atelier (okay okay it’s a live workshop) about how you can harness the ideas at the heart of your work to engage your dream customers, build meaningful connections and build a powerful brand.

And we’re going to do that by creating YOUR iconic brand manifesto live on the call.

What’s a brand manifesto?

It’s a powerful statement of the ideas, vision and purpose that lie at the very heart of your work.

But more than that. Your brand manifesto is a rallying cry for your tribe and an invitation for your ideal customers to join in your mission.

Done well, your brand manifesto will amplify your ability to:

  • Connect with your people – Meet them in their struggle, show them they are truly seen, illuminate their path onwards and empower them to carry your message forward
  • Bring more of YOU into what you do  – the powerful, soulful, reflective side of you that cares so damn much about your people and your work
  • Provide ongoing inspiration and direction – for you, your business and your customers. (Consider your social media content topics sorted)
  • Reignite your excitement and passion for what you do – Uh huh. When you own the power of your work, you’ll bubble over with excitement to get out there and share your message. And energy like that? Well it’s contagious.
