What if your biggest block is actually your strength?

Do you ever feel like there is a flaw in your business idea? A conceptual problem that’s holding you back?

To you this flaw is glaringly obvious and you just can’t get past it, no matter how hard you try. You can’t figure out how to describe what you actually do let alone how to package your work for sale. And you can’t shake the feeling that ‘no one would actually pay for this’…

Or would they?

Today I want to invite you to flip that flaw on its head and ask yourself:

What if your biggest block is actually your strength?

What if the very thing you think is preventing that fledgling idea from morphing into a viable business, turns out to be your point of difference?

You’re busy beating yourself up about how raw and unpolished your work is relative to others in your field. What if sharing your perfectly imperfect work was the exact thing that would inspire and motivate your tribe?

You can’t see how you’ll ever make a name for yourself, when you draw so heavily on the work of other experts, writers and thinkers.  What if your mission is to digest, summarise and curate the highlights of their impenetrable texts? To make deeply philosophical works easy to understand and process. To give theoretical principles a practical application, to make them accessible and useful, and to be there to hold your clients’ hands as they implement them.

You feel insecure about your role as a nutritionist and health professional, because you’ve not yet shed your baby weight. Who will take you seriously when you talk about the benefits of a clean diet and a whole foods lifestyle?Maybe your real mission is to show up regardless, love yourself exactly as you are and embody the message that health and weight are not necessarily the same thing.

What you perceive as a flaw, could be just what your ideal clients are seeking. If you’re struggling with accepting the imperfection in your work or loving yourself as you are, chances are other people are too.

Your task for today is to take out your journal and write for 10 minutes about what your business would look like, if that perceived flaw was actually your strength. Let me know what you discover in the comments below.
