When was the last time you made time to dream in your business?
To write down those secret desires you’re not brave enough to voice, or to list what you really want if you were not limited by logic, practicality or your current circumstances?
Today I want you to do just that.
As entrepreneurs, it’s so important to lift your eyes from your laptop and open up to all the possibilities that are right in front of you (if only you could see them).
If that all sounds a bit woo-woo, please bear with me: I’m about to share two simple daily practices that have driven incredible results in my life and business this year.
It all started back in January when I joined Maru Iabichela’s Infinite Receiving* programme. Infinite Receiving is a philosophy that “we only get what we have capacity to receive”. If you’ve ever struggled with money blocks, fear of success, limiting beliefs, or kicking yourself for missed opportunities – then I think you know what I’m talking about.
Infinite Receiving* is all about opening yourself up to receive abundance beyond that which you can imagine. There are many layers to this work, but for me, one of the most effective practices is my daily ‘outrageous things’ list.
At the beginning of every day, list five outrageous things that could happen, TODAY. That might sound simple, but it’s surprisingly difficult to come up with ideas that are truly outrageous. We’re looking things that seem so far out of the realms of possibility that if they came to fruition, your mind would be truly blown.
The trick is not to limit yourself to things that are likely to happen, but to open yourself up to all the outrageous things that could happen, seemingly out-of-the-blue:
- You could get invited to speak at a major conference
- You could get offered all expenses paid travel to an exotic location
- You could have the solution to your most intractable problem, fall into your lap
- You could get offered a book deal
- You could meet the love of your life
Since making this an (almost) daily practice back in January, I’m astonished by what has manifested from my outrageous things list. I’ve filled my books with dream clients and I’ve actually been offered all-expenses-paid travel, twice! (I have an even bigger Infinite Receiving story that I’m not at liberty to share just yet. Watch this space!)
These things usually haven’t happened on the day – sometimes it has taken weeks or months for them to come to life. But when they do – wow!
This brings me to the second daily practice – keeping a receiving log, of all the ways the Universe is lining up to support you. Similar to gratitude journaling, this means making a daily practice of everything you receive in a day, whether it’s a hug, finding a ten cent piece, a parking space right outside your destination at the perfect moment, an unexpected insurance payout, or yes, that all-expenses-paid trip.
My receiving log keeps me focused on just how much good is flowing into my life, even when life may be tricky in other ways. It also helps me notice when items once considered ‘outrageous desires’ have shifted over to the ‘gratefully received’ category.
I see this as an ongoing practice of reprogramming old patterns, I can’t wait to start the next round of Infinite Receiving 5.0 on July 4 (you get lifetime access when you join the programme).
If this post speaks to you, I highly encourage you to check out Infinite Receiving. And yes these are affiliate links – Infinite Receiving is the only programme I’ve ever promoted as an affiliate and I do so because I’ve seen magical shifts not only in my life and work, but in those of my friends who have participated alongside me. I’ll be offering a free 90 minute session to anyone who signs up with my link, so message me if you’re keen to know more. Maru is also going to be offering a free trial of Infinite Receiving from June 26 to 28, so hop on her Facebook page if you’re keen to give it a go.
Even if this programme is not for you, simply adopting these two daily practices will create magical shifts in your life. So what’s on your outrageous things list? Share your crazy desires in the comments below.
